Whole wheat ginger bread



Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp ground cloves
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter melted


Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly coat a 9- by 5-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves,and salt.
In a medium bowl, whisk the egg. Add the milk and
butter, and stir to combine.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan.
Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 25 to 30 minutes. Check after 20 minutes. If the top of the bread is becoming to brown, cover with foil.
Let the bread cool in the pan for 5 minutes. Remove and transfer to a rack.Garnish with white sesame (optional). Let cool. Cut into thick slices. Serve.
